Textile Recycling

The Town of Hamden announces a new way to recycle wearable and non-wearable clothing and fabrics.

Hamden now has an agreement with Bay State Textiles to install five collection containers in town. Containers are located at each of the three libraries, one at the Keefe Community Center and one at the Transfer Station.

Bay State will pay the town $ 120.00 per ton for all materials collected. “We accept all clothing, footwear, accessories, and linens…”

“Can I recycle my textiles that are ripped and stained?

Yes. Bay State Textiles will accept your textiles in any condition, if they are clean and dry! If it can’t be reused, it gets recycled into wiping rags or broken down into fibers and made into new materials.”
